Okej! Här är tråden för alla er som har frågor om svensk grammatik, svesnka ord, texter ni vill ha översatta och så vidare. Jag ska försöka hjälpa er så bra jag kan med era problem, och jag hoppas att ni finner den här tråden hjälpsam.
En gång i veckan kommer jag göra en liten frågesport, och alla som vill delta får vara med. Lycka till. thumb

att skriva - to write

Jag skriver - I write
du skriver - you write
han/hon/den/det skriver - he/she/it writes
vi skriver - we write
ni skriver - you write
de skriver - they write

in this = i den här

And since "ultimate" has two meanings:

ultimate (final) = slutgiltiga
ultimate (max) = super - guess this is like the most common word for max.
(but I guess you mean like "the best")

thread = tråd
this thread = tråden

so we get:

Jag skriver i den här supertråden
which means "I write in this super thread"

-since it's "den här" we get the "en" ending on the noun.

you eat - du äter is correct.

about the "ing" form in english, like jumping, eating and such, we don't use that much. the rule for that form is that you have to do it exactly when you say it.

I play soccer can mean you do it some times.
I'm playing soccer means you're doing it right now. the swedish way of saying that is:

I play soccer - Jag spelar fotboll
I'm playing soccer - Jag håller på att spela fotboll

but we don't really use that form much, we'd rather say "jag spelar fotboll" for that tense too.

about the endings, this can be a little tricky, since words can end on the same vocal, but still have different endings.

att äta - to eat
du äter - you eat


att måla - to paint
du målar - you paint

But I guess that's another thing you'll just have to learn, I don't think there's a special rule for it. can ask my Swedish teacher later maybe.

Yes. Like:

In this chapter he says "Hello"
I det här kapitlet säger han "Hej"

Den/det = that
här = here

den/det här = this

We just say "this" like that. dontknow

Jag - mig
Du - dig
Han/hon/den/det - honom/henne/den/det
vi - oss
ni - er
de - dem

"Jag älskar dig" - I love you
"Han gillar dem" - He likes them
"vi hatar honom" - we hate him

and so on - och så vidare

Here are the grammar posts from count.

Den/Det

a table = ett bord

that table
det bordet

a chair = en stol

That chair
den stolen

a house = ett hus

that house
det huset

a picture = en bild

That picture
Den bilden


So you use den/det when you mean just that thing, and not just "a thing". That's the easy part. the hard part is that there's no rule for when to use en/ett (a) or den/det (that)

And everyoe who doesn't grow up with Swedish around them all the time have major problems with learning when it's den/det. they say "det stolet", when it should be "den stolen" (that chair) and so on.. This is so hard, because you who hasn't grown up only hearing swedish have to learn if it's en/ett or den/det for every single word. and the only thing I can do is correct you if youre wrong, and the only thing you can do is to remember which it should be, since there's no rule to follow, but there is one right and one wrong word for every noun.

This is also hard when you should say like

a file =en fil

"Give me the file"
"Ge mig filen"

a glas = ett glas

"give me the glas"
"ge mig glaset

you can se if it's "en ~" the ending of the word will be "~en", and if it's "ett" the ending will be "~et"

But the hard part is that you don't know whether it's en/ett - you'll just have to learn. dead thumb


You also use den/det as it, when sayign:

"Give me that"
"Ge mig den"/"Ge mig det!"

"It looks nice"
"Den är snygg"/"Det är snyggt"


And it all depends on whether it's en/ett.



Verbs = verb

One really good thing about Swedish is that we don't bend the verbs if we're tralking in different persons.

I am - Jag är
You are - Du är
He/She/It is- Han/Hon/Den/det är
we are - Vi är
You are - Ni är
They are - De är


So "är" is the same thing as "am", "are" and "is"

Jag är svensk - I am Swedish
Du är konstig - You are wierd
Han är ful - He is ugly

är - am
är - are
är - is
